William Hill Online Seeks Growth in Ireland

After making a dramatic entrance into the US gambling market last month with the purchase of three leading sports betting groups (American Wagering, Club Cal Neva and Brandywine Bookmaking), UK's leading online and offline gambling corporation, William Hill, is expanding its global reach even further by tapping into the ever growing Irish gambling market. The group recently announced that it had launched a dedicated new Irish betting site that will offer Irish gamblers a broad variety of around 500,000 betting options a week on local and international sporting events. It will also feature Irish focused novelty markets on the site.

William Hill spent more than a year in developing this new site and is concentrating on competing with its rivals that include Paddy Power for their share of the Irish online betting and online gaming market. It is felt that there is lots of potential to be derived by focusing on punters from this region. The Irish gambling market is currently estimated to be worth approximately €1 billion. Sporting events to be offered by the site will include horse racing, football, rugby, motor sports as well as US sports.

William Hill presently operates more than 50 retail stores in Ireland and it is, therefore not new grounds for them.

Although William Hill already has around twenty Irish people working for them it is now on the lookout to expand its energetic team and is looking for more top quality Irish staff to join them in their planned further global expansions.

The new William Hill Irish gambling site will also offer players a chance to enjoy bingo, casino, poker, slot games and Live Vegas. A financial site, the "Day Trader" has also been added.

Tom Kenny, Head of International Public Relations at William Hill said that they are very excited about their new Irish venture and are certain that it will be an amazing hit with Irish punters. He added that it gook over a year to design, develop and test the new site but that "all good things take time".

It is believed that this new Irish venture, together with the group's expansion into the US market will effect William Hill's future growth.
