Growth for Online Casino Industry

Published on: August 18, 2010

By 2014, the online casino industry will be worth more than $7 billion USD.  A recent study by iGaming Business showed that in four years the online casino industry will reach new heights. There will be a more detailed report found through iGaming Business to show exactly how the industry will grow.

The global business for online casinos is definitely going to grow.  More and more countries which have abstained in the past from getting into the online casino industry are now opening their doors.  In part this is due to the European Commission stating that all countries in the union must offer fair trading for the online casino industry.

Furthermore, countries like Canada and the United States are beginning to enter the market.  British Columbia launched their first online casino, though it had many problems and has yet to come back online.  The United States is still staving off the online casino industry, but that will not last too long, especially if the “second recession” they are discussing actually happens.

Growth in the industry is more than just global countries getting into the market.  It is also the recovery from the recession.  The United Kingdom and other countries are not worried as the US is about another recession or backslide.  Instead, they are looking forward and spending their income.  The gambling market is still free for those to enjoy online games.  It has been rather successful for some, especially with their winnings.  It means they are starting to put their winnings back into the casinos and earning more.

For 2010 the online casino industry should be at $4.7 billion.  It means in the three years after 2010 another 3 billion USD will be infused into the industry.  Basically, the analysts are expecting a one billion increase per year for the next four years.

Each online casino operator is hoping to be a big part of the increase.  They want to enjoy substantial growth.  They also don’t worry as much about their growth, even though there is a lot of competition.  Each feels they have a niche market and with several branches of their casinos on the web it is easier to get a good growth per year.  The future is definitely looking positive for the future in online casinos.  The big question is what lies after that and with the new games.  The very nature of online casinos means luck has to be on your side.
