The Serbian police recently conducted a raid on online gambling operations on orders from the Games of Chance Administration which is operated by the Serbian Finance Minister.  The raid resulted in the arrest of several people on charges of operating an illegal gambling business.

The Serbian National Lottery and the Games of Chance Administration operated by the Finance Ministry are responsible for the issue of licenses for operators of gambling establishments in Serbia.

The raid, called “Atlantis” took place in an attempt to stop online casino operations which are aimed at the European and United States markets whereby players were able to make deposits electronically after which funds were allegedly sent to offshore accounts and then moved to Serbia.
