Progressive Online Casino Blackjack Games

Progressive jackpot games are usually associated with online slots. However players who do not like to play slot games are nevertheless interested in the large payouts that progressive jackpot games offer from time to time. Therefore online gaming software providers usually have progressive jackpots in some versions of their other games as well. Blackjack is a popular online casino game and some of the leading software providers have a variant of blackjack with a progressive jackpot

Cryptologic's progressive blackjack variant is called Progressive Blackjack. It is played with eight decks and as a voluntary side bet of $1 towards the progressive jackpot. The progressive jackpot is decided by the cards dealt to the player’s hand. The jackpot is won if the player is dealt either four red aces or four black aces. Other combinations of aces offer fixed payouts. Three suited aces offer a payout of $2500, four unsuited aces offer a payout of $1500, three unsuited aces offer a payout of $250, two suited aces offer a payout of $100 and two unsuited aces offer a payout of $25. On an average this progressive jackpot hits once in 360 days and pays out almost $150,000.

Vegas Technology has a progressive blackjack variant very similar to that of Cryptologic. It too is called Progressive Blackjack. It is played with four decks and has a voluntary side bet of $1 towards the jackpot. As in the case of the Cryptologic game the jackpot payouts are decided by the aces dealt. In order to hit the full progressive jackpot the player has to be dealt four suited aces. This makes hitting the jackpot more difficult. Four unsuited aces pay out 10% of the progressive jackpot. There are other fixed payouts that are more or less in tune with the Cryptologic game. Because of the 10% second jackpot a hit is recorded more frequently on the Vegas Technology Progressive Blackjack. However the full jackpot has not been hit in the last 200 days and is at an all-time high of $240,000.

Playtech is yet another online gaming software provider that offers a progressive blackjack variant called Progressive Blackjack. Like the games described before, this game is also based on aces dealt. Four suited aces result in the progressive jackpot being hit. Fixed payouts are offered for three suited aces at $5000, four unsuited aces at $2500, three unsuited aces at $250, two suited aces at $100, two unsuited aces at $50 and one ace at $5. Playtech's Progressive Blackjack does not seem to be a very popular game because despite not being hit for almost two years the progressive jackpot is at only just above $200,000.

Microgaming also has a progressive jackpot variant, but it is different from the rest. Instead of being based on aces it is based on sevens and is called Triple Sevens. Three diamond sevens result in the progressive jackpot being hit. Since only three cards are required to hit the jackpot this is an advantage over the other blackjack progressive jackpot games. However since only diamond sevens can result in the jackpot that advantage is neutralized. Three sevens of the same suit, other than diamonds, result in a fixed payout of 1000 coins. Any three sevens result in a payout of 250 coins and two sevens of the same suit result in a payout of 50 coins. Microgaming's Triple Sevens is a popular game whose progressive jackpot rises on an average by $750 per day. It hits on an average about every 90 days and pays on an average about $90,000.
