Golf Themed Rival Gaming I-slots

The online casino software provider Rival Gaming is known for its i-slots. I-slots have interactive bonus rounds. Usually players make choices in these rounds which determine the outcome of the plot and how much the player wins. However, Rival gaming offers two golf themed i-slots in which the interaction involves dexterity skills.

The first of the games Hole in Won, was one of the earliest Rival Gaming i-slots. Hole in Won is a play on “hole in one”, which the term used for scoring in a single stroke. It begins with a tee-off and the ball goes straight into the hole. The symbols on the reels include ball, golfer, umbrella, cart, club bag, caddie and shoes. The “eagle” and the “birdie” are special golf scores and represent special symbols in the Hole in Won i-slot. The eagle is an expanding wild symbol and in the animation hits a golf ball. The birdie is the scatter symbol and triggers the bonus round.

The second golf themed i-slot from Rival Gaming is The Back Nine. The golf courses in the bonus games in the two slots are nine hole mini courses. The static and video graphics in The Back Nine are of superior quality. They do not have photographic reality but are crafted in 3D. The Back Nine begins with a similar introductory clip. When the reels spin the background of the symbols become transparent and reveal a sand trap in the golf course.

The symbols in The Back Nine are also from the game of golf. Some are repeated from Hole in Won and some are new. The symbols include lady golfer, club bag, golf clubs, cart, trophy and holes. Many of the symbols get animated in The Back Nine, unlike in Hole in Won. The flag is the expanding wild symbol. In the animation it depicts a golfer driving the ball to the fairway. The male golfer is the scatter bonus symbol.

The bonus games follow the same format in both golf themed Rival Gaming i-slots. The game is activated when three or more scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels. The first time the bonus game is triggered the player is taken to Hole 1. The player has to place the cursor in the right angle and distance from the ball in order to get the correct direction and power for hitting the ball into the hole. Thereafter the player automatically proceeds to the next hole till all nine are completed. A score sheet depicts the scores for the holes completed giving details like the hole number, the par for that hole, the number of strokes taken, the above or below par score and the bonus credits received. The bonus credits depend on two factors. One factor is the number of strokes taken to complete the hole, with a hole in one awarding the top payout. The second factor is the number of scatter symbols obtained in the triggering spin. The more the number of scatter symbols, the greater are the payouts. The layouts of the holes are different in both games so there is no repetition. The Back Nine i-slot offers a game map, which shows how the nine holes are laid out in the mini golf course.

Both slot games have 15 paylines with the players being allowed to wager up to 5 coins per payline. The coin size ranges from $0.01 to $1.00. Hole in Won and The Back Nine i-slots are live at all Rival Gaming online casinos such as Ruby Royal.
