Three Easy Ways to Organize Your Casino Bankroll Using Free Tools

Published on: October 23, 2013

Organizing your casino bankroll can be a lot of trouble if you play multiple games or if you play at multiple casinos to take better advantage of bonus offers. However, using a simple spreadsheet can make life a lot easier on you, and we want to show you how to do that with three simple and easy-to-use tools. Not everyone has Excel installed on their computers, and not everyone wants to pay an arm and a leg for it if they don't already have it. Instead, use these three free tools that we recommend here to have your bankroll organized quickly and easily.

The first free tool that you can use is Google Docs. There's a spreadsheet tab that you can use within Google Docs, and while it doesn't have all of the features of Microsoft Excel, it's more than sufficient for keeping up with your bankroll. Since it's based on the cloud, you'll also be able to access your spreadsheet anywhere you have an Internet connection. Because you'll need to have an Internet connection to be able to play at online casinos, there shouldn't ever be a problem with you needing to access the spreadsheet and not being able to because of a lack of a connection.

Another free tool is the spreadsheet program "Calc" that comes along with the OpenOffice Suite. OpenOffice is an open-source alternative to the Microsoft Office package, and it's downloaded straight to your computer with no cost whatsoever. It takes a little bit of time to set this program up because the installation process takes a little while and the files you download are somewhat large, but it's worth it if you don't have an Office-like suite already installed on your computer because it includes a powerful spreadsheet program along with other programs like those found with Microsoft Office.

Finally, you can always use a program like Notepad or Wordpad to record what your bankroll is after each section. You'll have to calculate your wins and losses yourself, but it's a quick, low-tech way to get the job done. Some people will like this method, and others will prefer to use one of the two spreadsheet-based approaches above. No matter which option you choose, keeping up with your bankroll management strategy in black and white will make it easier to stick to your own preferred money management guidelines.
