Roulette Strategy - Strategies on Playing Roulette

Are you a fan of the wheel? If you have played roulette just once then chances are that you are. There is a passion to this game, a feeling that the game is methodical and can easily entice you into staying and playing longer. All of this combined will keep you coming back for more. But there are strategies in playing this game.

Realize that the odds are stacked against you unless you know and understand how to play this game. There are some prize amounts that can provide for a payout of as little as one times what you bet and there are some placements that can actually allow you to win up to thirty five times what you played. Whether you win or not will depend on your strategy.

Your odds will be extremely low if you only place a bet on one number. And as you place bets on more numbers, the opportunities to win increase. You can place your bets in a variety of different ways. Some of these placements include singles, splits, trios, corners, four numbers, street, line, dozen, column, high or low, red or black and even odds and evens. Some of these are rather explicit and do not necessarily need an explanation. But we will provide one anyway. Here is what they mean and why they are important to your play in this wonderful game of chance.

• Single - you will place a bet only on one number. The odds of winning on this is slim, but the payout is thirty five times your bet.
• Split - placing your bet on the line between two numbers. If the ball lands on either of these numbers then you win. Payout is seventeen times your bet.
• Trio - you will place your bet on the intersecting line of three numbers. If the ball lands on any of the numbers, then you will win eleven times your bet.
• Corner - similar to trio, but using four numbers. Payout is eight times your bet
• Four numbers - identical to corners. Payout is the same as well
• Street - placing you bet at the end of three numbers will allow you to collect if the ball drops on any of the three numbers in the row. You will win eleven times your bet.
• Line - the same as street, but using two streets. You will place your bet between the two streets. Payout is five times your bet.
• Dozen - placing bets on the first, second and third twelve’s. You can win twice your bet.
• Column - betting just like the dozen, but you will add the 2 to 1 boxes at the end of the table. Payout is double.
• High or low - this is self explanatory. You will either place your bet from 1 to 18 (low) or the highs being 19 to 36. You can win one time your bet with this placement.
• Red or black and odd or even are simple. You will not bet on a specific number, just whether it will come up either color or odd or even.
