Online Casino Gambling Addicts to Find Advice

May 24, 2010

The online world of gambling is considered to be one fraught with dangers.  Yet studies have been completed to show that the majority of online players do not have issues with gambling.  They go to an online casino for an hour or two of fun.  However, since the problem does occur there is help to be found.  In fact more and more online casinos are beginning to offer their own help because they too want to cut down on the amount of debts people incur.  If someone has too much debt they will not be able to play in the online casino.  They could also be banned from other online casinos.  The idea is to keep a watch on players looking for addictive behaviour.

The latest help that is being offered is actually by Parentline Plus which is a national Parenting charity.  They are working on a number of problems with parents and their children.  The latest and top one is problems with online gambling and gaming addiction.  Children tend to be the most influenced when it comes to gaming on the internet whether it is for money or just for fun.

Sweden’s Youth Care Foundation has concluded that World of Warcraft is the most addicting and it can lead to debt issues.  There are ways to buy things for the game online using cash, credit cards, and points earned in the game.  It is also popular in the UK.  One individual even went so far as to say that WOW is more addictive than cocaine.

Other online gaming addicts take more extremes that what is found in WOW.  These teens will seek to use their parent’s identification and credit in order to open an online casino.  Even though there are stoppers in place to stop this kind of behaviour it does occur.  One teen in the UK has been arrested for ID theft with his own father pressing charges in order to teach the child a lesson.

Some of the tips the parenting charity are offering may seem like common sense when it comes to online gaming and casinos.  They first tell parents to get educated about the security their internet has to offer.  If necessary hiring a professional that has more information on internet usage is recommended in order to get the parental firewalls in place to keep children out of games and especially out of online casinos.
